No, I have not said that at all. The comment you quote me on is calling for anyone who does believe that traffic affects Page rank to provide evidence to support their view (because I do not believe that it does).

PR and traffic are two different things in SEO. Having lots of quality links to your sites makes an increase to your PR. Web traffic is the sum of data sent and received by visitors to a web site.

Page Rank(PR) of a website not only depends on visitors but also it depends on other factors such as domain age and quality back links.

I am not sure whether traffic increase pr or not. to the best of my knowledge PR depend upon your on page optimization and quality backlinks. If you get good number of quality backlinks it would improve your PR.

Oh right!! I'll just go outside and spend a few hours working up a sweat chopping logs, and when I come back my PageRank will have increased!

Your advice needs to be more specific to be of value.

According to me increasing visitors does not effect on page rank,I think it page rank depends on your website's content which must be fresh and unique and quality backlinks definitely boost your page rank.

Page Rank is not a measure of the freshness and uniqueness of the content of a site. However, such content will encourage others to link to it, and if those links come from high PR sites then that will increase PR.

Where do you get that from? Do you have anything to support your belief that visitors and domain age are factors in PR?

Well i think SERP is more important than PR and if you have good traffic then your purpose is almost solve, you must have good SERP but if you are worried about PR only then you should care for backlinks as well.Try to get more and more dofolloAw and quality backlinks.

If the traffic is from quality backlinks, then the site PR could definitely improve.

But the PR would come from the quality backlink, irrespective of whether it also provided traffic.

I have one small doubt.... If we have large number of visitor to our page each(which means increase in traffic) but the PR is still 0.... Then is it possible to view our site on the top of the SERP...???/

Yes it is, it happens often that sites with low PR appear above sites with higher PR in SERP. That's because PR is only one of many SERP factors, and Google only says that sites with high PR are "more likely" to appear higher in search results. But the relationship between PR and SERP is discussed in other threads, and on this occasion the topic is only about the relationship between PR and traffic.
It stands to reason that the higher a site appears in SERPs, the more traffic it is likely to have, regardless of what the PR is.

    Hi,
No, PR is more related with inbound and out bound links with your web site.
