Am I doing things correct

Hi guys,

I am new to affiliate marketing and have written a webisite offering lots of products from clickbank, amazon and other affiliate networks. My website is www.internet-marketplace.biz, I have also started a blog http://internet-marketplace-blog.blogspot.com/ and also a twitter page https://twitter.com/net_marketplace.
If you take a look at my web, I am trying to create a one stop online shop selling all affiliated things. I am constantly expanding my products and have plenty more idea's. I have read documents on SEO but thats where I get confused, I have put plenty of keywords, meta tags throughout my pages but google still doesnt rank/ see me. How can I increase trafic? I obviously have backlinks from my twitter and blog.

Any help to get me started would be appreciated.

I wouldn't have started with a .biz. Those are hard to rank. Just switch over to a .com while the site is young.

 

.biz is hard to rank I will see what .coms are on offer. Can I keep the .biz and have 2 domain names or not?? Apart from that, is everything else i'm doing correct?

EDIT:

There are No .com available, but I have found a suitable .co.uk are they any good?

So could I have the .co.uk address and the .biz? have the new ,co,uk as the main domain and place a 301 redirect from the .biz Or just scrap the .biz altogether? My site has only been active for 2 weeks?

 

.co.uk is better than .biz, but I wouldn't choose a regional domain, either. Are there any .orgs available? Sacrifice the specific name you're looking for in order to get a .com or .org, then 301 the .biz to the new site if you feel like the .biz has important backlinks.

You'll need way more links than Twitter to get ranked for something like "online marketplace." There's tons of ways to develop links that can get you there.

 

ok. I have found a .com but its abreviated ie mkt instead of market (internetmktplace). is that ok? I really appreciate your help.

 

Since you're making a general online marketplace type of website, I would instead think of a brand name that people will remember. Something where people can easily tell their friends about the website. Having internet market place in your domain name isn't going to help rank you for any good keywords, so you mine as well choose something brandable.

Wont having a 'brand name' be extremely hard to launch? or will google 'see' my stock and associate it with my brand name and the rank it? Not really sure how google ranks websites, hence the question on here. I am a complete newbie. From what I have read, I thought that it is essential to have an appropriate domain name for googles rankings. I am getting confused even more now

Hi there, thanks for your help so far. Is my idea going to be too hard to get off the ground? I have plenty of time and patience. I am new to internet marketing and obviously want to make some money. What do you suggest is best? I have read various articles and looked into these so called 'guru' products. Do any of them actually work?

I would like to have a marketplace where people come come and get what the want (like amazon).
