critique and suggest ad placements on website

I have a decent sized vBulletin forum. I am wondering if what I am doing is best for my website's revenue. I know a lot of the big guns hang out here.

Please suggest better layouts, ad sizes, locations, colors, etc.

Okay, that is because you are new. Well you site looks good. I really like the placement. I would suggest however, to change the style of the one in the middle to a text ad and to have the same background and the same color of the site links

 

Banner ads work better for me. And they give a better look to the site too. Try using banner ads instead if you have not yet.

 

I would slightly change the background color of the adspace, so it draws more attention. Because I was looking for the ad and at first I only found the footer banner...

 

Thanks for the pointer. I had previously tried same color text links after the first posts in threads but it didn't do much. I tried what you said too for the ads below the navigation but after a few hours I reverted back to text/image 720x90. The one thing I did modify was the colors for the text links that show up so that it blends in.

Google sent me a message stating I could be earning more by enabling text and banners at the same time. Guess they were right.
