    Hi All,

We have developed a worldwide hotel booking website with a .com domain. We have also purchased about 10 country specific domains (ex: www.example.no). But I noted some of our competitive websites rank well in specific geographical locations (ex: UK) even when they have one .com domain.

So what you guys recommend ?.

    1) Focus only to one .com domain and do the best to rank it in all targeted locations

    OR

    2) Maintain country specific domains to targeted all locations and promote those websites separately

Further please let me know the whether there are any advantages or disadvantages in these two options.

    Thank you in advance.
    Iresh.

If you want to spend the time & money mainting 10 different sites, then go for it. I don't believe country specific domains make that much of a difference SEO wise. Personally, I would work hard on establishing the .com, then branch into developing the 10 country-specific domains.

Work on the .com domain and get ranked -- people tend to favour/trust .com sites over others.

The cost of maintianing multiple sites is intense, plus it discourages users from other countries to visit your specific domains. Unless you could do 30 or so domains some people will feel left out because their country is not their which could result in decreased visitors. Yet, everyone knows .com and .com domains. I recommend building up one nice .com domain, truly 1 great domain is hard enough by itself let alone 10+
