There's a lot of buzz on the social media about the new innovation called Pinterest.com. Did anyone here used this network for diverting traffic to their website? If yes then how does it work?
pinterest can drive traffic but the majority of its users are mostly female so if you are a male dominated niche probably not going to work. Also, if you are an affiliate, if someone clicks on your link i believe that Pinterest submits its own affiliate link so that you dont get credit. From my experience, the best times to pin pictures are around 4-5 pm PST.
I also heard that Pinterest will replace an affiliate link by their own. There are actually Pinterest courses that give the impression that you can make money from placing an affilaite link with your picture, but I am still waiting to see the actual proof. In my opinion, chances are the highest for making money is to drive traffic to your own website. If you pin something to Pinterest, the source website will be shown...
I agree that the best way to get traffic with Pinterest is to drive traffic back to your main site. I some niches you will get a lot of visitors.
i am still confused about pinterest don't know its effectiveness any one there to tell me some thing more about it
So it means affiliate marketers will not get the share they're seeking for that's an instant drawback.
Yes, I also heard about this and saw that's exactly better for female niche products Just before one day I have registered, but still pending.
Thanks everyone for your valuable comment about Pinterest. I knew Pinterest already, but didn't understand the purpose of using it as a source of traffic.
You can make money with Pinterest, you just need to have the right strategy. I've seen enough results on my own where I'm considering outsourcing the work.
Pinterest is great for traffic and yes it's mostly for female but I'm sure there are some male niches that people will have interest in. Drive traffic to your website not your affiliate link or cpa links. All you need to do is pin images on your websites or pin your videos. for a start. Create boards that are niche specific to sites you own and pin images from your site and other sites to make it look natural. Don't forget to repin other peoples posts as this is a community of some sort you want to interact with other users.
The affiliate link replacement by Pinterest is a problem but if you know about it then there are ways to work around it. The amount of traffic this site is driving means it is worth taking a look at and exploring some more. If you are selling an actual physical product then it will be more than worth your while at this point to put together some great photos and get used to using pinterest on a regular basis.
I'm a Internet marketer, I have been receiving almost as much traffic from Pinterest as I'm getting from Google+, however, there is a link strategy I use that sends more traffic from members by re-pinning my pins. I insert my URL in the description, and so when those pins are re-pinned or tweeted they send my link in it as well. My pins are all based on what my site is about so it is relevant and correlates to my site. I wrote more here about it:javascriptsandmore.com/1/post/2012/03/increase-traffic-from-re-pins-on-pinterest.html
