Google displaying my ad on MY SITE!

Just notised something that might have cost me a lot of money.

I am using adwords to draw people to a site where i have adsense ads.

Currently google is displaying my adwords ad on the site i am trying to draw traffic to.

I actually though google was smarter than that.

Anyone else noticed this on their site?
    How can it be avoided?
Should i ask google to return all money i have lost on this extremely crappy way of displaying ads?

    Thats funny.
You should block your own ad in the adsense setup: https://www.google.com/adsense/filter
Then you wont get your own ads on you own site. Even if google does not react.
But you should definitly ask them for refunds.

The simplest solution is filtering the ad on your adsense account.

Very funny indeed. Think of this.. users read your ads on your own page, click on it and stay on the same page.

Actually you did not lose the full money ... you just lost the commision that google charges :) ... u get back a part of ur money to ur adsense ..

Nice idea ... sign up with a $50 adwords account ... advertise on ur own site ... when ppul click u get some money ... so u get back lets say 50% .. u make a cool $25 ;) ... kidding.

Have now added my own site to the filter, do not see any reason why this is not automatically filtered. Should be easy to do from googles side.

There is a way you can block ads from certain urls in your adsense setup. For example, if you don't want your highest competitors ads on your site you can block their url, or in your case, your own url.

Yes, but if you wouldn't be displaying your ads you would display some others and earn from them.
The only difference is that you don't have to spend $ for nothing.

And yes, he lost all money not just commision. Because people would click on other ads if he wouldn't be displaying his.
