Website does not appear using keywords on Google, only by domain

    Hi,

I have built a website and started to heavily market it. I hired a bunch of people from the sales section of the website. I did Blog posts, Articles, wheels, a bunch of cheap backlinks (i bought a package of over 100,000) and also .edu links. But my website does not show on google unless I search for it specifically (either by site:domain.com or domain.com).

The marketing has started about 4-5 days ago.

Also, my colleague with a very similar website, with no advertising done to it, is already posted on the first page using the keywords.

I'm thinking my site has been penalized by google or something. It's also under my Webmaster tools account, but did not receive anything from google. I read that they sometimes message, but not always.

I checked their guidelines, and made sure that i oblige by all of them. I cannot see the website breaking any rules.

Today I re-submit it to google, and created a "Reconsideration request"

Should I be worried or is this something normal?

It seems to me that you're site is pretty much messed up beyond help.

Buying a package of over 100,000 (what I assume to be cheap links) to a relatively new blog is basically a kiss of death.

And then resubmitting it Google? Who gave you that advice? Never resubmit your site to Google. You're basically telling them to manually review your site, which now has 100,000 poor backlinks pointing to it.

yeah i know. Google only shows 3000 links for now. Hopefully those won't show up anymore. Funny thing is, that my website soon showed up after posting this. Crazy :S

Won't stay up for long. I would start over if you're looking to build a long-term authority site, but that's just me.

Why not? In regards to link building, i've done a good job at creating links from blogs with pr3-6, also build a large group of edu links. The 100,000 links surely will disappear and I bet 99% of them will barely show up. Unless I'm completely wrong. I also read that Google just ignores those ADD URLs.

How do 100,000 links disappear? Did you cancel the order? Do you think Google just says "oh you see, he purchased 100,000 bad backlinks to his site, but let's just discount those and not affect his ranking at all." Not a good long-term move is all I'm saying.

If you have a site, whether you are in charge of it or contracting it out, you need to make sure it adheres to the basic guidelines; if it doesn’t, your site can be penalized by Google and the other search engines. And, reading the guidelines is a lot simpler (and smarter) than trying to get your site back into Google once it has been penalized.
