PHPLD Question

Hey guys,

I'm testing out this PHP Link Directory script. I know a lot of people use it, I was just wondering does anyone have an idea why the PR scale isn't working? Do I have to do something extra for this?

Why are so many people building link directories?

 

Link directories are good source of webmasters income.
They can sell sponsored links/banners, can sell featured links and so on.
Do you want to know anything else on directory building

The tool is very cool and I use it on Lively Directory.
Let me know if you have any problems about the installation.

 

Because it can be rather profitable - i started out as a free directory and went paid about a month ago, in one week id made enough from link submissions to cover my entire years hosting, cant complain at that!!!

 

But who actually takes the time to browse them?

 

IMO not many internet users browse directories to find the sites they are looking, they mostly use google.

Most of the visitors are webmasters or dir owners who are looking for one-way link building to get good PR.

 

So it all comes down to PageRank?

 

I think it all goes for link building and PR.
May be some traffic also.

Theres another forum post currently on going about this - directories are pretty much there for backlinks and PR... niche directories though are more useful though...
