Agree. Cloud environment is more cost-efficient, more stable and more performative than usual technologies which are still popular today. I think it is soon to become the major tech used in webhosting and other spheres.

    New?

Cloud computing is stupid. My data stays on my drives. No EULA or TOS required.

If it's managed merely for cost reduction as it was in the past, then the service will always be substandard and merely used as a bridge till internal resources can be made available.

I'm always actively looking to reduce costs while increase performance and load speeds. So I think it's a good thing, I'm not a hardware person in terms of server admin etc, so getting another company to manage that side of thing leaves me to focus on growing my business.

That is laughable. It is basically data stored on big servers. Savings are huge for big corporations. Your browser manipulates the protocols to run the applications remotely. This way you always get the latest software version. A lot less storage is needed as its hosted in the cloud. Of course you should back up your important files. I actually have a little more info at a site I have. wwwca(dot)ca Cloud computing will grow, not go away.

It's a powerful computing concept ever! It will be helpful in many ways. And mainly to enhance the computing experience in reliability (speed and secure).

It's great when it works. Unfortunately having all your work/data stored in the ether makes for all sort of problems when things go wrong. Same as any kind of technology I guess.

Using the cloud is like using a bank - you never actually get to see the people that you are trusting.
I trust my bank with play money. I trust the cloud with play data.
Everything else is buried in the backyard, stuck up the chimney, thrown down the well, etc...
    :) :p
