Hello everyone! I want to launch my own webdesign service where I shall design various cms, html, flash websites for my clients. I want to know how should I charge my clients for 1. Installation of Wordpress 2. Designing their sites. My second question: Which web host should I use for hosting my client's websites? Basically I use Hostgator and ipage. My third question: Can I use free wordpress templates for my clients if they want to build a low cost website? At this time I am offering this service absolutely for free. You can visit my service clicking here: http://www.bigcommercestation.com/i...onent/article-category-list/69-free-webdesign At later period I shall upgrade this service and use it professionally. Any new suggestions are welcome!!!!

Hostgator and iPage are good web hosts. You could also try Bluehost. And as for charging your clients for the WP installation, I don't charge my clients for this, as this is already included in my total price for web design.

    Well, add me on skype.
I got a site running with .com domain and web-hosting.
But I am still creating the portfolio so I don't want to show to everyone the domain yet.

That's completely up to you and your demographic. Look around at some sites in the same industry and look at what they are charging for the work that they do.

I don't use either of those. If they don't have hosting I go with Blue Host now. If they have other needs such as offshore, video hosting, multi site and other resource heavy sites, I suggest other companies.

I never use free themes. Ever. Unless they come from the WP Repository or a REPUTABLE theme designer, free themes are loaded with malware, and viruses.

And I wouldn't use them on a paying client's website anyway.

If you are going to do this for a living, you need a website that is about JUST your services. Showing ads all over the place and no mention of any web services will not get you one client. Ever.

Your own site should show a basic sense of design skills, some creativity, and most of all , good copy, nice use of tools, and what services you provide and a way to contact you. People should be able to land on your page and know all of that stuff right away.

Their decision NOT to hire you, is made within seconds of coming on your website.

You need to treat it like a business, not just like a website that you hope to make a few bucks on.

There is no way that I can make any suggestions for that. I don't know anything about India or what web people charge in that market. I don't even know how many Rs make how many USD's.

If India is your target market, you'll have to search online and see what others are charging.
