make an easy $20 getting backgrounds to show up + open in a new tab

if you go here & click on the 1.0 layouts everything seems fine, but when you click on a style the background doesn't show up on the 1.0 layout preview. also right now it opens in a completley new window i want it to open in a new tab on firefox, and full window on IE.
