Are contextual advertising programs like Kontera and InfoLinks truly a joke?

    I'm contradicting myself with this thread a bit since in the past I've written about how pathetic my experience with it was.

    I remember logging into my Kontera account once, to see that there had been a couple of clicks for once - I earned a penny each ! that is ridiculously low.

    Is it usually this low?

    I've read people saying that all of these other pay-per-click programs just can't compete with Google Adsense. Do you agree with this?

    Honestly I don't appreciate the lack of privacy with Google Adsense - someone could look in the source code for your publisher ID, and use a website to find out all of the sites its connected to. I think the effective ones are the ones which you have to pay for , am I right?
    I don't like this - : "The guy who owns this site, is also the guy who owns these particular sites!"

    Google Adsense should offer some privacy...

    Kontera and InfoLinks, they are definitely not jokes. But i agree that no one can compete with Google Adsense atm. Adsense pay higher imo. :)

    This is Jonathan from Kontera, I think we've chatted before in the past. Kontera isn't really competing with AdSense, because it's displayed in a completely different area of a webpage. Most publishers do report earning more with AdSense, but also say that they earn more revenue by using AdSense and Kontera together than they do using AdSense alone.

    Regarding the clicks you saw using Kontera, it's hard to say what happened without looking at your account. Because of our ads are geo-targeted it's possible that we didn't have the right advertising for your content, in the region where you got those couple of clicks. Most Kontera publishers see great earnings, but if you want to double check if Kontera is the right match for you, the best bet is to contact your Kontera account manager for their honest opinion.

    Hello,my name is Matt. Hope that you still work on Kontera, as i want to ask something.

    Recently i registred to Kontera, and followed up the steps to settup a site. Everything was easy to do, though no ads appeared on my site -

    also how to add more sites on my account, i saw that each site has a unique publisher id.
