@logoesdesign - Excellent work. I really like it and you're on the shortlist. Looks good on site and a nice sense of the 'team'. @ Mr.LeGeNd - Really good design with excellent bold & clean graphics. I hate to be negative about this one but for some reason it's just not working for me but I don't know why exactly! For those making the effort to show how the logos look on a van as well - Thank You - it's not necessary, but is very much appreciated! Cheers
... It occurred to me that some people would very much prefer to only show designs by PM. If that's the case then feel free to PM me now. [edit: no PM's now thanks - see comments below]
A bit unfair for the ones who already posted after you explicity said the designs had to be posted to the thread.
OK - not sure why that's a problem but won't change the terms now *** CORRECTION - NO PM's *** Postings only (Note: I only wanted them posted to ensure everyone would get the benefit from my feedback, which would save a lot of guessing by all, but... as that seems to be a problem, then it's a fair point, now corrected)
From a designer perspective... If you check other contests you'll see contestants copying ideas or making logos "heavily inspired" on other contestants logos. That's why some prefer to pm their designs, so nobody else copies their concept/idea. In this case you explicity said (as many other contest holders do) that the designs had to be posted to the thread, so i thought it was a bit unfair to change the terms of the contest half way through when some of us had already shown our cards. From the contest holder perspective... You might get more entries to the contest allowing submitting by pm, BUT this is a double edged sword, because if you check contests gone wrong for the contest holder, most of the scam complaints come from people who choose a pmed entry as a winner, which then results to be copied/copyrighted artwork. This doesn't happen when you only allow posts to the thread as any participating designer will call out the ripped artwork.
Thanks for the explanation Orangu. Now I understand a bit better! Thought it may help to offer PM's but it's a valid point and no harm was done as you managed to correct me before any entries were sent I was aware of the issues of designers 'showing their hand' but hadn't thought about this excellent point with regards to PM's. Certainly something of a concern. Cheers
No winner chosen yet. Everyone will be notified if we have a winner (and who), but still undecided. Hopefully this will be very soon though. Looking to close the contest this afternoon.
Thank you for all your excellent entries. Unfortunately there is no outright winner so far so I will extend this contest until Friday evening WITH AN INCREASED PRIZE OF $45. Although the ones shortlisted were seriously considered we feel that none had that something special we were 100% happy with. ** PRIZE INCREASED TO $45 ** ** Contest Extended to Friday 2nd March **
Thanks to everyone. There were some very good entries but I'm afraid we didn't find a winner. NOW CLOSED
