Focus on 1 forum? Or Multiple Forums?

So the question is would you rather focus on 1 forum, and build a solid rep? Meaning you posted atleast 100 posts. Or spread out to other similar high pr forums? What are your thoughts on this? Any suggestions, and constructive criticism would help. :p

This is building a solid backlink through your signatures, and places where you can add your links.

I am on here but you can also find me at the Warrior Forum. As long as you have the same username and avatar on every forum, I do not see a problem with building up your reputation on several or more forums. Is that the most effective way? I have no idea really. It is just the way I do it.

Yeah, I think keeping the same name and avatar is the right way to build up reputation and spread the word. Like, it's more effective to post on several forums, but don't be just like a spam bot.

Yeah I think you can be included in more 'circles' if you spread out your forum memberships. I'm also at warrior forum. And you become better known in the forums you already belong to. I read that doing 5 posts a day in each forum helps to establish yourself. But only when you're contributing something worthwhile to the convos.

I think its good to spread out into different forums to build your reputation, but you will also find that some forums are more responsive than others. Its good to test this out and see which gives you better results.

Well I know you mentioned for backlinks, but if we say it was to get traffic to my sites through my signature I would use some of the bigger forums and post good post regulary on each.

That way you build up your rep on all the bigger forums which in turn could send you some nice traffic to your sites from your signatures.

Spreading the love is going to give more link juice, but generally building some credibility is worth a lot in terms of doing business online. I have done quite a lot of business on these forums over the last 5 years I've been here. You wouldn't get to do the same things by making 10 posts across 20 different forums. That's a lot of posts, but you're not building any credibility in the niche.

when you build external links, you have to notice that posting 2 in 2 forums is better than 2 in one just forum. External links have to be various. in case when your account was closed, you lost all your links suddenly and eventually all effort in vain, and your website will also be punished.

I think multiple must be better for more traffic if you're participate constantly, else one is enough.

If you are capable of running or maintaining more than one forum then go ahead and be part of as many as you can if not just focus on one.

I would definitely go with several forums with high traffic. Coz that would surely bring traffic to your site.

I would recommend spreading out on multiple forums and posting all of them. Every forum has an exclusive content and community, so you can learn maximum. A list of good forums and when they allow you too use the signature function (which is what you care about-:)) is here. (And yes, I wrote this, but it includes 7 good forums to use.
