Could somebody with experience using xhtml, if possible, take a look at my new, www.ultra250x.com , site? It's my first time using CSS and making xhtml pages, and even through it get validation, I'm not so sure that everything is ok with since it doesn't show the same in IE and FF browsers. Your opinion will be highly appreciated.
good to see only css use in the site, colors im not too happy, can still be some improvement on that, also header and logo can be made more professional. overall it is decent and simple
Awesome PWC racing pictures. Theme of the site is good but the colors are distracting eye. Very bad Color Scheme. Following are my suggestions:- (1) Most of the photos are with water background. Hence match the site color theme with colors from blue family. (2) Remove the black background and chose white background. (3) Match every color of home page with colors of photographs. (4) All PWC racing pictures are having blue, yellow, green and red in common. Match home page colors with those colors. I wish you all the best with your new site.
Your site loads fast. This is advantage for your. But i didnt like your text format maybe you can use verdana. And finally your bg color is nice for menu and images. Your site valid Valid XHTML this is another good one. Good luck with your site Regards, Mustafa
Guys, thanks for looking at my site, giving me your inputs and the kind words! I think you will like the new color scheme better. I already reversed the colors in the content area. To make the page easy on the eyes I lighted it up and kept it on the blue side as per your suggestion but, the true is that I really like dark pages and think they match with my type of hobby site. I still kept some black to match the banner at top. About the cosmic sans font, even through they are allegedly obsolete by the new standards, to me they are the easiest font for reading. I do know that they aren't good for professionals, formal, sites but in this case it doesn't matter much since it's a personal hobbies site. I made that banner, purposely, not to look professional because the public that I expect to look at it is related to extreme water racing sports, jetski modifying and they do like everything custom with extreme colors too! Could you, please, take a second look at it and tell me what you think of it now. Thanks a lot!
The site contrast is still distracting. Replace present blue with some cool blue. Comic Sans font best suits with cartoon related topic. Font Arial is ultimate option. The site not looking professional.
Use this bad boy --> http://wellstyled.com/tools/colorscheme2/index-en.html It even has options to compensate for various forms of color blindness
PayItForward , thanks for the tool , it worked great for what I needed! ramakrishna p, I followed your suggestions with the cooler blue, and the font change, and it does look way, way better! Hey guys, thanks again for all your help. Me very happy now
Do you think it will help with the eyes without becoming too dull? I want the home page to be bright and colorful, like the jet skis are, and still offer a relax reading environment.
It's all seams working fine, however if you want the enlarged picture displayed fully, you need to organize the thumbs differently or show the enlarged image a little higher.
wow very well done my friend. really liking the layout and all. For the nav menu, instead of blue background and white link color, change to other color for clear visibility. or use buttons
Thanks everybody! ladybiker, I'm glad you got a kick out of it kaung, what colors will you suggest for the nav menu? Buttons are out of my reach, every time I tried to use them the page goes all out of alignment. seann, for a while now I been wanting to take my skis down to San Felipe, Mexico, but I haven't had the time yet. Farther south should be even better for winter, jetski, use too! Kassi, originally, I was using full size pics but I did made them smaller, and raised them to a very close distance from the top, to make them fit inside my 1024x768 laptop's screen but, there are 3 taller pics that when expanded will reach below the mouse tip. I don't want to make them to small or take them down I don‘t have enough pics of the Ultra 250X yet. Beside those 3 , the rest seem fine to me using the IE and FF browsers. Which browser were you using?
