I didn't know there was anything wrong with it in the beginning, and when I found out it was probably not a good idea I still didn't change anything because the site was doing well. Basically what I did was to have a paragraph at the end of each page which was just a list of my 30 keywords. During that time the site rose to PR4, and 19 of those keywords are on page 1. So I certainly wasn't penalized and could well have benefited from this. I actually removed the paragraphs yesterday to see if it would make any difference, and will monitor by SERP over the coming weeks.
HI. All these are the black hat seo. Google likes only manual work and white hat seo. Whatever you do that should be unique and original.
Also backlinks huge backlinks coming from same source or same pattern of building backlinks....could be one of the reason for getting your site penalized...i am not sure bt might be one of the bad practice that Google hates..
