I don't know exactly how PR is calculated, I only do directory submission and now my site is PR2 in 4 months

depends upon your content. i didn't do any link building but my PR is 2. so if your content quality is good Google rank your page.

 

Back links can get your PR. Well written by shhassannaseer. In real time PR does not play too much but no way your can neglect the importance. Too confusing a parameter is PR.
