If you set it up right, W7 is so fast, it's insulting

You click an app to open and it like...opens too fast...and you're like "slow down, what's the rush?"

Funny thing about Windows 7...It's almost not used by people. Go on forums where you can see the browsers and OS people use, most use old versions of IE/FF and Windows XP still

XP was the best OS MS made, hands down

I feel they were so bent on getting a mobile platform that they released W7 as like a very fast XP, but are really spending their time developing W8

So in conclusion, yeah dude, W7 is a lighter, faster XP...But just wait until W8 comes out

You don't need Windows 7. If you are running your apps just fine with XP, stay with what you've got. Eventually Microsoft will make it hard for you to reinstall XP when it crashes and that might be the time to go out and get whatever version is around then but, unless there's an application you have that won't run on XP, just stay with that.

Actually some of the apps i had in my XP ran smoothly on windows 7. I had a windows 7 installed when i bought a new laptop and i found it awesome. You can simply run your old xp apps by right clicking it and going to compatibility and choosing the version or the OS (xp) it used to run smoothly before. I even ran some of my old video games that were only for XP and windows 99.

    1) Faster because you ordered more ram.
    2) Better is not a technical term. You will hear people say "better" with no definition for it.
    3) Prettier is not always worth spending the money and taking the time to install something else along with changing your workflow.

Going to Windows 7 for no reason is not worth the trouble.

I've just purchased Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) for my next computer. I currently have Windows XP and a 32 bit computer.

Many of my friends love Windows 7.

I have a question. What are the ideal specs for running Windows 7 Pro?
(i.e. RAM, graphics card, motherboard, etc) Your input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I shifted to Windows 7 only because of the security. In XP, It is very hard to protect computer against Viruses. But not in Windows 7. Other than XP is too a good operating system.

Of course windows 7 is way better than windows xp. First of all it has a friendlier interface, a better stability and a some cool design.
I am running windows 7 since the first betas, and i never done any clean installs since i installed the first beta that was 2 or 3 years ago, i only upgraded.

For me windows 7 is not good just the graphics and interface is the good one in windows 7. The run as administrator features in 7 are bad for me. But in windows xp easy to use - user friendly - and easy to manage and tweak..

I prefer windows xp as it does not t block and allows most of the applications to be installed while windows 7 does not support some applications such as Wilcom etc.

W7 are very good but I don’t like the processes that are running automatically, you can close them but they just re-open again with the restart

Yes I agree that W7 is faster, but you need to have a higher amount of RAM and VGA to install them. You will still see improvement in performance if you do that to your system using XP. W7 has better graphics and animations, and some new features that are liked or disliked. It will take some time before it will be used by majority of Microsoft followers; meanwhile they can improve the faults that it haves encountered by the users.
