    In my experience every site is different. There are some sites where the top of content is the best, others where the sidebar is better, and others yet were right in the middle works the best. The only way to find out for sure is to TEST! Use a split testing technique to test different adsense placement. Wait till you have a solid number of visitors before making drastic changes.

    i prefer positions: TOP, then around header, or under/around main menu
    then: right sidebar, left sidebar, and footer
