Online Banking has nothing to do with cheque clearings. I was working with Kotak bank till last month and clearing there takes place at EOD...starts at around 7 PM. The delay in clearing Google cheques (Citibank) depends on the distance and frequency of transactions between the bank you deposited your cheque and the nearest Citibank. A person staying in Mumbai would get his cheque cleared within a day if he deposits it before 3 PM or so.

I got my check cleared after 1 month and 8 days. I made the great mistake of dropping it at "Our Great" SBI!
Met with the manager three times and with another guy at the bank four times!

Dropped my next check at ICICI bank yesterday, hope I get it cleared by monday.

True, ICICI bank takes less time to clear CITIBANK Cheques....even the HSBC and IDBI bank take less time...but i encash my cheques from ICICI bank only...coz i got some good relationships and few good standing accounts with ICICI bank.
