In 3 months I have earned $1.5 in AdSense

Hey,

You guys really need to help me. I have a small website with some Google ads. I never get traffic to it and I lost hope.


Has anyone performed poorer than me?

 

Many people would have done worse. Although you would only need to advertise
(build traffic) to increase your adsense revenue.

 

you cant just plop a site onto the internet and expect the world to come to it.. you have to get out there and promote it, get backlinks, SEO, etc.. it can take a lot of time and work..

 

i am quite similar to you after 5 mths only $20

 

Basically as tearabite said..get to work. Have you put in hours upon hours on building traffic to your sites or did you just throw it up and thought "if I build it they will come?"

 

If you're making a website with a passion of $$ then you won't ever achieve. Thinking about long goal and don't put adsense on your site when you have a few visitors. Website is just a plant, if you don't take care it well it won't grow. No one is gonna show you how to make money.

 

Cocentrate on building the trafiic and just forget about the money part.

 

post on forums that are related to your site and that could be interested in it.

 

My first month I made $0.06, but in my second month earning jumped to nearly $20.00. I think it all has to do with the work you put into it, and don't build your site just to make money.

Dont expect much at first, just keep building.

I couldn't disagree more actually. I think that google is such a great site cause they are passionate about making money. Along with many other businesses.\

If you want to know what to do to make your site better just read these forums and these three tips will come up over and over and over

Create original content. Original quality content is king. The users that you do get will return and they'll bring their Internet buddies with them.

Submit your site to directories, forums and boards to create some back-links which will do 2 things. You will receive traffic from the links you create but you will also be ranked higher on SERPS.

You want to be considered by google an authoritative figure within your niche. So if you are going to try to break into the news arena try getting links from sites like CNN, fox news, new york times and so on and so forth. The more quality back-links like these you get, the more google thinks that people are hungry for what you are dishing out.

high SERPS results is the ultimate goal. And content and links are the way to get there.

 

just start link exchanging & directory submitting & work on SEO, and then you will hopefully get a good SERP depending on your chosen keyword

What's the topic?
Do you have unique content?
How many pages do you have?
What have you done to promote your site?

 

I was suprised how quickly I started earning...although when I submitted by sites to directories, took part in some link exchanges etc, the clicks did start to increase. So I think links and promotion are the key to increasing clicks.

If the implication is you have clicked on the ads, that is not going to help anyone.

 

One bit of advice: DP.

Spend one hour a day reading DP forums. Don't just read the latest topics; read back in the archives. Follow threads from beginning to end. Read deeply. And spend less time on the AdSense sub-forum (I know, because this is a bad habit of mine!) and more time on link building, directories, SEO, web design, etc. Do this and I guarantee your income will explode.
