If you're dealing with a Microsoft-related thing, yup. It's only a matter of time.

Nothing wrong with owning a domain name. As long as there is no infringement on the site.

I see a problem with that statement.

If he has a domain that has "Windows" within the domain, and the domain has content of porn...
even though it has nothing too do with windows, you are still using their trademark. Windows
is a very distinguished name brand and trademark...using it in any manner would not be good
if they decide to take action; If the domain gets popular, who knows what they will do....

If you want to resolve your issues, and put your concerns to rest, then contact them
directly and ask them if they have any issues with it...its not like they cant find it as it is anyway....

    @dscurlock This is wrong

    isn't it a window?

There is many cases that even with a tradermark and everything you want about a name, if your site DO NOT sell or do the same services, then you can't do nothing about it

But here is a link that might help you

there are some risks in that domain name, but it depends on the type of site you are hosting on it.

Let's put it this way, then: based on the OP's exact domain name, what do you honestly think that'll refer to? While none of us can obviously speak for
the so-called general consuming public, what's likely and realistically the first thing people - or your friends - will think of upon seeing that?

True that situations like these are treated on a case to case basis. Unique, famous marks, though, are arguably easier to scrutinize.

It could've been easier to argue for if that domain name was something more general like, say, windowswidget.tld. Given its specific name, it's different
    story.

Ultimately, of course, it's up to Microsoft if they want to make that an issue. While they lost a trademark dispute or two, you're bound to find they won
more if you look hard enough.

You'll have problems from someone as that sounds like a "warez" site, essentially. Want me to run it past my friend at M$?

LOL, so you only pretend to be a keygen site. It is a fraud on top of a fraud.

Um, cause you're hosting it. There is not some magic that automatically takes down pathetic fraud sites. Someone has to have a desire to do so and then do something about it. My guess is that if Microsoft even knows about it they probably figure your site is not worth the trouble - since you are not giving their product away, just making an ass of yourself pretending to do so. That makes it no less of a fraud both in name and intent.
