I have noticed lately that small authority links like blog comments, forum profiles and article directories has no power anymore. I was a little desperate but i got this .. Google will value only high pagerank backlinks from high page rank root domains and most of all pages and social backlinks. I have tried it and yes i got very good results . What do you think about that? Do you have any other ideas about how to get high authority backlinks ?
It is true that Google considers backlinks of high PR but it doesn't mean that small authority links have no value. Every link has its own value and importance in the eye of Google. To understand that blog comments, forum profiles and article directories has no power anymore is totally wrong. I always perform SEO of my projects with all types of links (high and low PRs) and I am successful. You can find high PR links through blog commenting. But it is not easy because in blog commenting, first of all, the comment should be relevant and on the other hand, majority of high PR blog posts don't approve your comment or if approve then remove signatures from the comment. It requires a deep research.
That's good but still you need to put up efforts to get some .edu backlinks. When you are following Social Bookmarking Sites consider Reddit, Digg and StumbleUpon etc. Same goes for high PR Article Directories otherwise your efforts will fly in air and smoke.
If you want to build links from .edu sites, its not easy and its waste of time so try for other more sites, and also consider all low and high pr sites, because they do have some value and it count.
there is not the best indicator.... i have find some high page rank blogs with very low authorithy... I guess you better try to see the link profiles that those sites has...
I found using web 2.0 properties to give more weight after the penguin update. I also used it to recover some of my "penguinized" sites.
