We had lunch today in the city in a Spanish restaurant and I drank crappy Spanish beer. Does this mean we are becoming a province of Texas? The waiters looked Iranian/Aussie but spoke great Australian and I'm sure the cook was some sort of foreign chap but he spoke Aussie good too. Then we went and saw a British moving picture and it didn't need subtitles so we knew we were in the right place. Civilised too, they allowed a nice wine to be taken into the theater.

I don't know why Spanish Beer is crappy maybe its just the taste variation of each individual. I haven't drank an Aussie Beer when I used to drink but sure I like the taste of Corona.

Had a great conservation with my doc yesterday, he is of Greek heritage and he bought up the riots in Greece. He said how he went for a long stroll through Brisbane's South Bank parklands on Sunday and just wished the world could be like what he could see in front of him. People of all shapes and colours, all religions, races and creeds walking, talking, laughing, swimming and just enjoying themselves. He was rapt. I enjoy talking about Australia's multiculturalism with a knowledgeable bloke such as Paul, a great world traveller. I have no time for people who live in basements and obviously get all their knowledge through their Google fingers and have no personal experience of how the world and its people works.

2) With a 90% European white population, Australia can't even really be called multi-racial, when compared to a place like the US

I realize I'm going a little off topic here but O'nation mentioned the Persian Jews.Interestingly the Iranian constitution gaurantees Iranian Jews a seat in the "Majlis".And Jews are protected as are other minorities under their law.(yes that is and can be circumvented)

A fine example of yet another place where, socially speaking, even the backward government of Iran is ahead of the Saudis. The Saudi government is simply too weak to support any type of diversity of race or thought. In Saudi Arabia, thinking is an activity that can be hazardous to your health. It is why all the Jews left. They have literally no Jews at all.

At some level, I suspect the isolated Saudi people have become less intelligent through isolation and the inbreeding that goes with it. You can impregnate your sister and daughter so many times before your children start to eat their own feces.
