when I search for "text loans" (without quotes) in google UK, my site go4textloans.co.uk is on 7th page. but the title is "Text Payday Loans - Text Loans" which is a few months old. Why google is still showing the same old title? The latest cache of this page is 01 Feb 2012. Please advise.

Yes, you will see your updated title when Google will update and replace the new title with the old one in its data bases... after it you will see your updated results ...

Plus you should see are you showing the link of your website or any social network of your website ? because if you are seeing the title aur link of your website via any social media via link at facebook, twitter etc then you must update the title and description at those networks as well so that Google can update all your stuff in its data bases....

    Let me know

It is unlikely that Google will change the page title to your new version. If it hasn't happened by now then it is very unlikely.

Google reserves the right to adjust titles in SERPs to provide more accurate and relevant results to users. If you look at the page source for some of your competitors in this market you will notice that Google has a different title in it's SERPs to what has been written in the title tag for these pages. Unfortunately it would seem that this particular market is subject to a large amount of keyword stuffing in the title tags which Google has become very wise to over the years and has clearly modified its SERPs accordingly. It would seem that Google has deemed your title either irrelevant or too spammy for its users and has adjusted it accordingly.

You could maybe try adjusting the crawl rate in Google webmaster tools to see if that makes a difference but I doubt it will.

Looking at your page source I would have to say that your title is not very well optimized. More than one hyphen "-" looks too spammy and this is probably why Google hasn't adopted it. You need to create a title that is more visually appealing that contains the main keywords you are targeting. Try not to overstuff it with various keywords that may not be relevant to the content on the page.

Ive had to wait months for Google to update my page titles at times. It can get really frustrating but Google definitely takes their time with certain things.

It is really hard to say! Sometimes google updated a site within 3-4 weeks and sometimes within 10months even if it is the same page!
Yesterday I had a lucky day on google! My site was indexed within 7-9hours and on google´s first page within 25 hours (low competition niche etc.)! Sometimes it feels like they work whenever they want :)
