Old Domain with SEO.. Help Req.

I did some keyword research and found a keyword with a good number of monthly searches and a low competition. Than I searched for the domain and found exact keyword matched domain, I registered the domain and installed wordpress and posted a few articles.

Now when I did some site:mysite.com search on google, I found that the domain which i bought was already registered to someone else, he/she didn't renew it and it expired. I did some more research and found its archives, the previous owner posted only a few 2 or 3 articles. He tried to get some backlinks too, appr. 5 to 10 backlinks are still showing up.

Now my question is, I still cannot see my site in google index, while my other sites were indexed in very short time. Is it possible that google is not indexing my site because the domain may be previously banned by Google? Or should I wait to see if it gets indexed? Is there any other way to check what could be the reason?

    Sorry for getting it long.

    Cheers.

There are many factors involved in it. First i hope you did submit your sitemap, if so, GWT will show how many pages have been indexed. Do check for those backlinks you mentioned like whether it is from bad neighbourhood sites. You need to do a site audit like the robots.txt is not blocking bots, broken links etc. Unless you can provide the link no can say the real factor behind it. Do submit the post along with the website link in the seo site review section.

If that site was previously banned, then just after not renewing Google will not cache that any more and they will be deleted forever. not if you find it and correct it with new SEO then definitely Google will reindex it. but it will take time and you have to notify Google by doing some general pinging and gathering some visitors from forums and social networks.
    thanks

I would like to suggest you that, please add Google webmaster first of all to your website. It will shows you some error pages if previous site owner had created so, so you may redirect that or work on that to resolve some penalty given by Google. Or you may add some unique content on site. Google webmaster may show if your site has some problem or you may ask to Google using webmaster to check your website.

thats good. it takes a while to get it indexed. if you are doing some link building for your site, the indexing process goes faster. good luck with your site
