As we all know that within some days Microsoft will be going to launch its new OS called Windows 8. As its developers version is already available on website. I want to know that if a person having licensed version of Windows 7 than he/she is able to upgrade his/her OS free of cost or we have to pay the amount. As in last time the person who have Windows Vista got the chance to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 by paying negligible amount. Is there someone who have any information of news. I am eager to know the news and want to operate the Windows 8.
I guess it will be available as an upgrade option for a lesser value as compared to the cost of a new installation.
The question is, can you upgrade to Windows 8 from previous versions at all? I have not looked into that but Windows 8 is supposed to be so much different that I wonder if you will be able to.
I think that to keep hold on old customers Microsoft will surely give the chance...........Well I am not aware about Windows 8 that which type of changes they are going to make in comparison of Windows 7 but it is sure that it is fast and light.....Also I have heard that Google has launched the Google Chrome OS which is more lighter and fast than Microsoft's OS
Only as an upgrade option. You will still need to pay for it though. My advice to you is to hold back just a little more and wait for 8.
The upgrade from (I think) Windows XP onward to Windows 8 is relatively cheap though, I thought I saw $40 (maybe $60, I forget).

Microsoft never gives the new op system without any cost. You have to pay for upgrade it. Maybe the cost of upgradation is less than the cost of purchasing. You get only this benefit.
I do not think that Microsoft will give anything for free, if you have a license for any previous software that is not valid for any others. You will have to pay individually for each product.
Hello We cant upgrade windows 7 to windows 8 without paying. With the lesser amount you can upgrade. Its look great when we see windows8 for first time. This post may helpful
Actually, 8 is not a different version of win actually. It a upgraded version of 7 and especially subjected for smaller devices. So, not a big amount of guys will go for up-gradation and win will not be interested in providing the up-gradation facility.
Yes, it' s performing much better on the same hardware where Windows 7 previously was installed. Though, time to time getting those "smiley" so called BSOD (actually isn't blue anymore), judging by the information it's giving, seems windows doesn't like my network card driver.
