Hi Friends, I am new in seo and I want to learn about seo and I am too much confused about the importance of NoDOFollow Links. I have already concerned with lots of people about nodofollow links and I got different answer from them. Most of the people said NoFollow is not so worthy because Google does not consider it in Back-links and NoFollow links are useless for our keywords to get into rankings. Please provide me the best answer about NoDoFollow Links Thanks
Wikipedia use nofollow on their hyperlinks, but google webmaster tool still count it as a backlink. And having a wikipedia backlink will do wonder for your keywords on SERP.
Google don't count them as back links but they still take them into account.. It gives more credibility to your site as you aren't seen to be getting thousands of dofollow links purposely for gaining position. So if you are going out to get 1000 do follow links, ensure some of them are nofollow too...
backlink is backlink no matter they are dofollow or nofollow. The major different between dofollow and nofollow is that nofollow not passing the PR juice and not being indexed. Therefore, most people prefer dofollow
Hi Friends, Thanks for your best replies, your valuable answers have cleared my doubts. But I would like to know one more thing from you all that "no-follow" links help us to improve the keyword's ranking in Search Engines ? If yes then why?
nobody can prove that nofollow backlink never help in SERP and the fact is nofollow backlink still helps in crawling
Actually, when you say "no-follow links", these are links that Google does not crawl/follow the link at all when it sees it on a certain content or page. That is why most SEO's consider using do-follow links since Google follows it when it crawl a page with a do-follow link. The problem is many are obsesses in do-follows, forgetting that even "no follow links" are still considered in other ways or means that contributes to a ranking factor of a portal. It only means it is not that useless at all.
Alexander P is spot on. Nofollow links sometimes help with SEO.We have had situations where addition of only nofollow links have managed to change our site SERP relevant to competitors. So from where we stand, "do follow" is better, but nofollow is still better than nothing. All the bestSnakeman
"Nofollow" attribute is used to stop spam towards the site or any blog. Search Engines don't ignore these links so it is better to get some nofollow links with lots of dofollow links.
Go with this link it will help you to know about do follow and no follow http://omarabid.blogspot.com/2008/07/difference-between-dofollow-and.html
NoFollow links are that which can not be considered by the Google while counting your website PR and indexing your website in Google search result page. Such thing can make for avoiding the spamming in top and popular website.
1. They don't pass link juice. (Though, I have seen instances where it can be argued about.) 2. Google can't follow this links. 3. They are counted for a site authority. 4. They are much easier to get. 5. You will never find a direct answer to this question, as Google algorithms are not disclosed. It's anybody's guess.
Liondragon, you are correct when you write:"You will never find a direct answer to this question, as Google algorithms are not disclosed. It's anybody's guess",BUT we can infer what google does by experimental results. My experiments have shown that in some cases, use of no-follow links has improved search results for the affected site.My view is also the relevant site that the no-follow links appear on also has a bearing. All the best
A nofollow link is a link that is included on a webpage using standard html markup but includes an attribute to prevent passing reputation to the destination page. This type of link does not improve the link target search engine ranking.
All I can say is that, either of the two is helpful. How you link on either a "no-follow" or "do-follow" is way more important than being mislead to thinking ONLY "do-follows" are helpful. Many may not seem to understand it, in many ways, we have different perspective of these factors. But for me, I solely believe on the effect of no-follow. Though I also link on "do-follow" links, but I never really care if it is no follow or do follow at all. Just link - with quality and I think that is fair enough. The fact that online users who are just searching for answers and browsing sites does not actually care if what they are browsing are no follow or do follow.
