my blog is about 2 months old and i'm still getting less than 10 hits a day from google is this normal? thanks
Its a matter about the content of your website. Traffic is depends on the content. Use google trends to find which topics are trendy and create content similar to them.
Creating a website and doing nothing is not going to help you anyway. The traffic of the blog will mostly depend on the SEO work you are doing for your website.
If you have good content you should try to promote your blog on social media sites and see if your traffic will increase.
Provide users with quality content. You also need to share you content so that others will do the same.
Assuming that your blog is the one that is the homepage in your profile, I had a quick look and you have 8 keywords, two of them are 2 words, but the others are all 1 word. You are not in the top 100 on Google for any of them, so people are not finding your site. I think that to begin with you should do some keyword research and find some alternatives to target.
It also depends on the keywords that you are targeting and your rank for those keywords. If you are listed on the first page for a popular keyword, you will surely get much more traffic than you are getting right now.
to start with it is fine... but not satisfactory... write more content, spread the link juice and comment with similar type of bloggers...
This is correct, keyword research is very important to getting traffic to your website. Looking at the keywords on your website you have things like "music" and "hip hop" why not go for longer tail keywords. An example would be "latest hip hop music" now according to the google keyword tool it may only get 1,600 global searches per month but searching google with this keyword in quotes brings back 285,000 results, which is still quite a few but a lot easier to rank with then "music" which brings back 9.570,000,000 results.
Age doesn't matter on generating traffic. There can be many reason for low traffic such as low quality content
One thing I will advise is dont just rely on google as your only source of traffic. Anyone with this business model is bound to fail at some point!
thanks for the informative suggestions, going to improve my keywords I've already been getting OK hits from facebook and twitter but couldnt get any traffic from search engines I'm not very advanced with SEO so i randomly selected keywords without thinking about the competition for the selected keywords
