Only getting traffic to 1 page in my site???

I have a site that gets most of it's traffic from Google. My site has over 400 pages but I only get traffic to my homepage when my visitors are coming from Yahoo. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe they only have one page in the Yahoo index? Maybe you haven't done any keyword research? Is your site new? It's pretty hard to answer your question... Maybe 399 pages of your site are duplicate?

 

Or maybe your content sucks. Or maybe you have only non-indexable images.

 

There might be possible your site is not get indexed by the search engine. You should have to check is there any nofollow tag in your page which stops crawler to crawl your site. You can do seo for your site which will helo you to rank well in search engine like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.

 

You should really think if people want to see what is in the rest of your page....

 

You should focus google also and promote there.

 

What is driving visitors from your homepage to other pages on your site? What do you have that induces people to want to visit other pages?

Maybe adding some links to other pages within your homepage content would help?

 

I think Yahoo and Bing's crawling/indexing process is not as fast and efficient as Google's

Google can index my new pages within a matter of hours... while many of my pages more than 6 months old are still nowhere to be found on Bing/Yahoo

If it is down to the search engine's crawling process then it is out of your control

Yahoo do not give much result. Just work in Google, Yahoo will automatically rank it.

 

You should consider building links to inner pages too so that they can rank in google and yahoo

I don't... and nor do any other high traffic sites... I'd be concerned if that was the case...

 

optimize the other pages of the website so that they rank higher in google. then you will get more visitors and targeted as well.

 

You getting traffic to only your home page? That means only home page is indexed in Yahoo! and others or not. Try to have some SEO effort in some pages of your site.

 

Just Submit your site to webmasters tool and then fetch your site other pages and also check other errors.

 

and how many pages are visited with the help of Google?
