I have just started making a new site with lots of ringtones i have collected for free download, but at the moment its taking ages, just to list them and I was wondering which is the best, simple one to use that possibly has hits, rating, comments for each file, and categories for each artist etc..but not too complicated, like mambo/joomla but simpler.. any idea? thanks
Joomla is one of the best CMS available for free; you will have to give some time to learn it and then you can use it quite easily;
ive already got a joomla site, but it will take ages for me to create a new content item for each of the 10,000+ items i want people to download.....
You should try phpnuke as it comes with a download or you can also try drupal with media management module Saad
I agree... those are two of the best Open Source packages around. WP is my fav. Blogging Script and Joomla is by far the best CMS I've used.
Joomla and Wordpress. Yes Wordpress can be 'templated' into a awesome CMS. Perfect example; Techcrunch.com
I had installed a copy of drupal. But I found it's only a blog and forum system,not a CMS system,right? Thanks
You can apply security patches... also Yes by default it is kinda blog and forum system only but you can install differnet plugins to customize it Saad
Hi, I decided to use Wordpress beacuse of the permalinks, and i never had any luck with joomla sef. So yeah, you can see my progress so far here http://mobile.tvfreeload.com/ - I havent released it yet !
Drupal is a multi-function CMS. It is tuned to be something of a blog and a community. However, you can customize it to become a ecommerce place, a ebay clone, a place for company wide knowledge base, etc... It is modular and flexible. Check out their handbook.
hey, dont you think you will have legal problems offering free games like Brothers In Arms - Earned in Blood?
sef is only little probe for joomla but WP is just blog if u need advance options u must preffer joomla to upload content easly to site we have few components.
Can someone tell me whether when you install drupal on a server..is it easy to transfer it to another host if the need arise...
