A very good idea for a blog. Very popular niche. Anyway it looks neatly designed, professional looking and has quite a lot content.

Only problem is the domain name, but that's my opinion.

The look is nice.
In as far as the link color, try Googling ... "(name of whoever powers the template)"________" link color".
Oh, ...one other small thing.
Kill the birdie.
...and that's coming from a nice guy who's an animal lover.
I know the birdie is probably a nice person and a family guy, but there's no room in advertising for "distractions".
People with alleged weight issues are already dealing with enough annoyance without some nice little birdie "peek_a-booing" them, no?
Alright, alright...so don't kill the bird.
God forbid you should have THAT on your conscious for the rest of your life.
