    Hi, it all depends on the competition. Perhaps a highly competitive phrase could be there in G News for a few days then drop back. Most things would be visible for around a month on the news search page.

    There's a good chance of other sites and blogs seeing the story though. Also it goes to anyone receiving Google Alerts. It also seems that when the story lists in G News, its organic position seems stronger too. I'v known news stories feature on the first page for many months for decent keywords. Even better if you link back to the story!
