Hi, I've recently bought a browser based game script and am finding it hard to get players on my game. i have signed up onto top lists and posted but with me as the only person voting im at the bottom of the list. i would like some help in showing me more ways to promote free and paid. Your help is appreciated

One thing I noticed, when taking a quick look at it, is that I couldn't find out anything about your game when going to your site. You just stick a Login screen on the front page. I would highly suggest a more traditional front page where you have recent news and some things like basic play guide, features list, etc. Doing that will also help with SEO. As far as promoting, look for blogs that review games like yours. Contact them, give them a login that has already been created for them, and kindly ask them if they would give your game a try and review it. Set up a referral program (give something in-game so it doesn't cost you anything). Go to forums where people might be inclined to play a game like this and become a part of that community. The Internet is not a place where "if you build it, they will come". You have to offer something that people want and then make sure that they can find out about it with aggressive marketing. There is no shortage of mafia-type browser based MMORPG's. While getting your name out there, spend some time ensuring that you get some unique features implemented, giving someone a reason to want to play yours over another.
good idea! ill work on adding more content on the front page. and yes i have been thinking of new features to add to my site. @BigTim3 no i did not code the script, i bought it from the original creator with full rights. i seen the potential when i first seen it and have changed alot of things to make it better. more ideas welcome
Social Bookmarking (Digg, Reddit), Try to see if you can submit to a game review site to get it reviewed, With the content it will help. Follow the Google Webmaster SEO tools and you can rank well. Doing some blogging yourself about the game, changes, updates will help. The only way is to get it into the hands of the players. Facebook or Twitter would be a good method to get it out there.
You can try making a trailer about your browser game and submitting them to video sharing websites like Youtube.
I have updated the site. On the landing page is a video showing the game, going to be using this "landing page" and make it a complete one stop shop to login, register, activate and recover accounts. at the moment they redirect to the previous page. more feedback would be awesome! also i heard some advice to buy off flickerr whats your thoughts on that? and if yes what to buy? You should set up a wordpress blog and a twitter account to keep regular updates on the game, as well as interact with users.
suggest to use affiliate program, it is one of the best way to gain player. Besides, buy some banner space on those high traffic games forum
try finding some games related blogs and contact the bloggers to see if they might want to mention your game in their posts
Try the usual: backpage, craigslist, fiverr, facebook. Facebook could be a way to go to promote games.
