Today science can prove there is god in many ways, you just need to read the right book with all science explanation.
For exmple the number of the stars was known long before (in the bible). The exect number by the bible is 1,064,340,000,000,000,000 and today the sciense is getting near that number every year. So if you believe it's true, how the hell this is known in the very far past? they don't have telescope or even something close to telescope ...
Christians are always looking to convert everyone to their religion. Christians are often very aggressive about telling you that your faith or lackof will send you to hell.
Christians are rarely aggressive. Nobody directly approached me, I only observed in some Christians a certainty that I didn't see in others. Since becoming a Christian 21 years ago no Christian has directly approached me while many have approached me from human works based (as opposed salvation by God's grace) religions like Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses, Hare Krishnas, and we are all being approached by Islam. TWalker does have an interesting observation that Christianity is the one that the people attact and it is common to use the name Jesus Christ in vain while no other name of a religious leader is used. Do you ever hear anyone blurting out Mohamed, Joseph Smith, Charles Taze Russel, Buddah, or any of the other creators of human works based religious systems?
From “Jigsaws†by Louis MacNeice Although we say we disbelieve, God comes in handy when we swear — It may be when we exult or grieve, It may be just to clear the air; Let the skew runner breast the tape, Let the great lion leave his lair, Let the hot nymph solicit rape, We need a God to phrase it fair; When death curls over in the wave Strings may soar and brass may blare But, to be frightened or be brave, We crave some emblem for despair, And when ice burns and joys are pain And shadows grasp us by the hair We need one Name to take in vain, One taboo to break, one sin to dare. What is it then we disbelieve? Because the facts are far from bare And all religions must deceive And every proof must wear and tear, That God exists we cannot show, So do not know but need not care. Thank God we do not know; we know We need the unknown. The Unknown is There.
Who is responsible but human being for all that you describe ? this is the human destiny, we have the choice and it isn't appropriate to search for divine culpability when the guilties are your neighboor (or mine) maybe you (or me). Of course your position is comfortable : I'm not guilty, just a victim of a bad god !
all religions are based on human works to the non believers., Iam a hindu religion believer and i believe that Lord krishna is a god ., his works are not human works as per hindu belief., And in india christianity has become aggresive to the core, Missionaries, give money to people to convert them apart from the usual hypnotism and other methods.,
If there is no God, then why do those who devote themselves to Him, saints never decompose? If there were no God, that miracle could not be. Neither could all the other miracles. It's very easy just to say He doesn't exist. It's also very easy to say you're not sick if you are, but look how dangerous it is when someone refuses to get treatment for an illness they deny; reality doesn't go away simply because you wish for it to. The idea that the church invented the idea of God, is not true and is from satanists. I've read what they say, and you just said the same exact thing. If it's to have power over the masses, then where is result of their power, they say to help others (charity), be kind to others, that our eternal life is important as well as our physical, refuse evil, treat one another how you would want to be treated, and not by how they treat you which would lead to abuse, murder, etc.. If their purpose is to enslave the masses, they sure have a horrible way of doing it. The demon who lies to you, does not need to say much to deceive you. Where are all the details? Satanists say that satanism is just a term, that there is no satan, but yet they mention him in their beliefs.
Lily... just remember, you are to love your neighbor. And they come in all shapes and sizes. We as Christians are not to judge, we are to know... to know a man by his fruits. So many times I think we cross the line and judge by a man's fruits. As Christians we believe that Jesus alone saves, but we must never forget that He alone saves whomever He will: Hsa 2:23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to [them which were] not my people, Thou [art] my people; and they shall say, [Thou art] my God. Rom 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. Rom 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. I just want to make sure that in your zeal, admirable though it be, we don't give the idea that we condemn any who do not believe... He just never gave us that heavy burden. It's not our deal.
This is a total generalization. Using the word "always" is questionable, isn't it? And yes, I believe that we have to choice to decide whether or not we believe and want to go to Heaven. (or in your words, your lackof faith will send you to hell)
So because something that is found in the bible, which is historically accurate or in some way true, then every word in the bible must be true? Is that your logic? The bible is just a collection of 'books' written by men hundreds of years after the historical events transpired. It is not written by 'god' and it is not 'gods word'. It was conceived by committee and we all know how things done in committee end up. And just because 'they didn't have a telescope' back then, does not mean some other source of knowledge was not made available at some point in history. There is still no "explanation" for the cave drawings and egyptian carvings of space craft and space creatures. God is just a human invention to explain those things which could not be explained.
I'm sorry you feel this way. Have you ever heard of a guy named Lee Strobel? He was an atheist, and an award winning journalist who set out to disprove Christianity. He couldn't, and became a Christian. Perhaps you might be interested in reading some of his books?
Catholics are great people, as are the vast majority of there priests. But the few priests that are molesting the children should be locked up where they cannot hurt anyone anymore.
