I think the effort for backlinking now needs to focus on social links, high authority links, relevant links and diverse links. Make them look as natural as possible.
You need to do some quality Guest blogging for having quality links. Social media also plays a very important role in ranking these days. Well, basically Google panda attacks on the poor content so when it attacks it found that most of the article directories and web directories having a poor content there , that's why post of the people stop working at these article & web directories, but we should understand this issue that panda attack was at poor content not at basically article & web directories so we should continue our work at these directories but we should go with the high quality content only....
