I am looking for someone to admin my forums. I am willing to pay. New admin must be able to update my vb, fix some glitches in the style, install some vb mods, etc. Basically he needs to know his way around VB. I hate to play devil's advocate here but I am just like that, haha. 2 Questions.... 1. Why can't you be the admin? I mean why make a forum and not administrate it? Don't you want to be a part of its growth at all? Standing in the shadows and watching without being the main force of the community to me is just boring... On my forums, as they grow oh so big and oh so fast, it really gives me a good feeling to know that I served a huge part in their growth by dedicated a lot of time, energy and activity into them. 2. Why pay? There are plenty of people who will do it for free and bring quality content to you forum. In fact, there are more people (it seems) that will help admin a premium forum software powered forum than a free software powered forum. The key is to go to the various admin and promotion forums out there and post about it. Lastly, if you are one of those that makes a forum and then gives it to someone else to run while you collect the cash, good luck because in my almost 15 years of running forums, I have learned that is nothing but a myth
Pretty stupid questions/observations to be quite honest. 1. The OP may have better things to do , different more profitable business to take care of or have personal reasons as to why he can not temp be online to look after that particular website, So instead of selling it he's asking for someone to take care of it for him. 2. Why pay ? I can tell you now i wouldnt trust anyone offering to administer and have access to valuable data that i wasnt paying for, why ? Because paying for something like that with some sort of contract with someone reputable is not only peace of mind but its also good business practice for protection. Not everyones forums are designed as a hobby , large amounts are there to make money and thats what their sole purpose of being created is for. And your last comment is ludicrous, I have a number of clients of which earn substantial amounts of money from their forums , generally people evolve . They build their first forum , maybe their second and 3rd as hobbies but when they realise they can do it and they are running them selves and earning money it soon turns into a business of which you then have the capital to hire other people to manage and run those forums for you. Just because you havent yet done that in your "15 years experience in forums" it doesnt mean its a myth.
