How to optimize a new website?

I manage a new shopping website, what should i do to make google crawl my webpages as many as possible?

 

After on page search engine optimization, Do off page search engine optimization. Like
(i) Blog Commenting
(ii) Search Engine Submission
(iii) Classified Submission
(iv) Article Submission
(v) Social Bookmarking
(vi) Blog Posting
(vii) Forum Posting etc..........

Do On page first and start with Off page activities with Directory Submissions and Social bookmarkings these are the initial steps....

 

Submit your website to google via Google webmaster tools. If you've a sitemap to your website, then I'd recommend you to submit your sitemap too. So, that google know your website and its pages well.

 

First and foremost work is On page SEO. A website should be fully optimized by its On page. After that start Off page work on the website by starting from search engine submission. Do other off page work like submit your website in niche directories (theme based), article directories, Bookmarking websites and create your profile on web 2.0 websites.

 

buy some backlinks might be good for your site, google would crawl often...

Create niche back links as much as you can.

 

In optimizing your site you need to learn SEO.. You can download some free ebooks there in order to learn about SEO. Do searches on Google regarding SEO and read some advice from forums and blogs.

 

I think this is more then enough.

 

Defiantly do your on page seo, including a sitemap is very important. Then there are a multitude of other things as listed above.

 

generate a site map then submit it to Google, build links for your site make sure links can be crawled.

Try Directory Submission First..

 

Linkbuilding is the only king. Always was and always will be. But stay away from 90% of free link building options! Better allocate some budget for a few good links than make a thousand of free or a few dosens of cheap ones. And build your own network, 1 site per month is a good pace to start with.

 

As it is said that "Necessity is the mother of all inventions", one of my clients wanted my advice as what are the points to be considered while optimizing a new website for Search Engines. So, even though I know what points will make a new website completely optimized, here is a list of guidelines that can be called as SEO tips for new web sites or what ever the users want to call it.

 

You can always do some bookmarking as well on the high PR sites such as delicious and stumbleupon. Some say that if you have an link to your site here in your signature, Google will crawl it pretty quickly. I'm not too sure about that but it could help if you have new content.
