I'm looking for a domain registrar. I'm wanting to spend at least 8 bucks or even 9 bucks on a new domain name. Which domain registrar would you suggest or recommend?

"best" really depends on what you're looking for in a registrar.

I suggest looking at the most popular registrars, research one, and see if it meets your needs.

I personally would suggest Godaddy. Their new interface is a breath of fresh air.

Personally I like enom and moniker. I used to totally despise Godaddy and their painful interface, ridiculous up selling etc etc. but my concierge has been helpful in a domain transaction so now I think they are O.K.

If you use enom you need to get an account from a reseller to get a decent price.

Same here. I actually recommend Namecheap and Domainsite for "frugal" users
while I suggest Moniker for those who want their most valuable domain names
    kept safe.

pairNIC if you dont plan on owning hundreds of domains as they are a little more expensive.

how long should a domain site take to show up after changing nameservers. ?

for new ones it should be almost within a few minutes right ?

I know transferred domains take up to 72 hours.

Varies from one registrar to the next, namecheap are always very quick for me - a few minutes usually. Some registrars are quite slow and take hours...

I tried www.dotbob.com and they are OK for me. They offer .info for $2.15 and .org for $2.98 for first year. They accept unverified paypal.
