I want to set up a blog, possibly wordpress (but not bothered if theres something else thats better) I want it so that people can register to add their own blogs. Each person then will get their own section which can be mixed up on a timeline or searched by each individual blogger. As an incentive, I want to add google adds or something on there as a revenue share so the blogger gets 75% and the site gets 25% I also want general public to be able to comment. Also it would be good if there was an RSS feed coming in from somewhere also where people could comment, but site getting 100% of the revenue share thanks in advance for your advice and comments
not every thing is possible with wordpress. In wp, people can register, can add their articles not blogs and also can put their adsense ad code for earning. There are 2 or 3 adsense revenue sharing plugins available for wp and you can set ad revenue percentage.
perhaps you can hire someone to build a directory site for you as your visitors can submit their blogs as what you want
You need a combination of plug ins. If your intention is to have ONE site that others can register on and submit articles freely..I highly recommend against that. You will get spammed to death and it's probably the most un original idea in the blogging world. There's a "I want to start a blog where others can submit articles" thread every other day for the last 5 years. They are only 2nd to "I want to start an article directory". However, you could utilize Buddypress to start a community, limiting users access to adding content, and with that set up WP as a network giving those members their own blog ( you should have good hosting. Don't try this with cheap shared hosting). There are also membership plug ins that you could use on a single blog, or network blog. You could also utilize V-Bulletin Publishing Suite 4.0 as an article forum. It also gives you the option of letting people submit and publish articles. Basically, there a many ways to do it. You just need to narrow in on ALL of the functionality that you want, to better determine which solution is best.
cheers .. all taken on board whats happening with me is i started doing a job for someone who asked me to register a domain for them and then decided against their original idea and then refused to buy the domain. The domain is podium-news. So I wanted to get site together readys for the start of the new formula one season that a few armchair experts can write about their own ideas etc and earn some cash from their own views, at the same time as filling the site with original content etc etc plus it would solve my purpose of gloating to the people i originally bought the domain for when it starts earning cash when it could have been theirs so with a domain like that, can you suggest something that will earn me some cash back ?? has to be something quite easy as i am not that bright
It's not as easy as picking a subject, writing some articles and then you'll make money. We can answer all kinds of questions about running a blog, SEO, and software problems, but we can't tell you what kind of business is going to make you money. That's up to you and how well you can run it. Your motivation needs to be that you want to provide great information, entertainment, or a service. There are a million things that have to be right and go right to make money blogging. Most people never make a dime because they think that it's as easy as picking a popular subject, throwing up a bunch of free stuff and plopping ads all over the place. You see, it's not about how popular a subject matter is, it's about if you can get the people to YOUR website, and keep them coming back. You can make more money with a great website that caters to a small group, than a crappy website that caters to a large one. And lets face it, your first time out with no design skills, no experience, no money invested, and no one to help you with marketing, SEO and promotion...you will create a crappy blog. Everyone does. TO avoid that, get people with those experiences. Learn them. Or invest money to get them. The first thing I will tell you is, if you are going to write about Formula one, look at the top sites in that niche. The are well designed, well written, bold, colorful, user friendly, and have a ton of information about the sport and great photography. If you can't at least recreate and improve upon the 3rd worst of them, then you are wasting your time.
my problem is I have a million good ideas and not the skills or the cash to make them work take the website in my signature for example .. its not what i would have wanted but its not too far off and it was free once i had the free site in place I just used facebook to promote it .. google soon picked it up and now its earning me a whole £1.00 per day ok thats not much but it was free so basically money for nothing and pretty much run by other people so a bonus i have other ideas that could make lots of cash but without the skills and the cash im already beaten and yes i've thought of taking a partner but knowing my luck they'd turn out to be mark zuckerberg and i'd end up with nothing
That is a problem. You have 2 choices, learn the skills or find the money. And even if you find the money, make sure you hire the right people. Just know that ideas are a dime a dozen. It's the execution of them that decides success or not. Most successful things are not original ideas, someone just did them better. Facebook isn't original. Google isn't original. You Tube isn't original. They all just did them better. In the case of those companies, a few hundred million $'s in venture capitalism also helped out quite a bit. No one actually starts with nothing and crawls their way from zero to millions. At some point you will need money to make money.
