Hello As the news arrives about the PR scale going from 1-10 to 1-100 next year, what do you think about it? Will we get more accurate readings from popularity on other sites, or what does the PR upgrade mean???? Sir. Uuno Turhapuro
If PR will go to 1-100 from 1-10 then it could be better as it can be more easy to find better sites and can really be nice.
PR scale changing from 1-10 to 1-100? I just tried looking that up and didn't find anything, at all. Where did you find out? Are you sure it isn't some hoax?
It would be much more accurate. Many PR4 sites are caught between being a PR4 and a PR5. So, if the PR is actually 47, then that would much more accurately show how the site [or page] is performing.
Well, that prestige does seem to translate into money - so more accuracy would probably lead to more complex negotiations over how much to pay (or ask) for a link... But given that google does not really want us to even think about PR, I don't think it's likely that they will give us more accuracy.
Afreakinmen. Also, where in the world is this information coming from, or is this wishful thinking from the thread starter?
Fist I've heard about it also. I doubt Google would make any changes to the scale, even if they did I doubt it would be announced. Do you have a link to where you read this?
The only benefit of going to a 100 point scale is what you'd see in the tool bar. Page Rank already uses decimals behind the scenes, so it is already on a 100 point scale (or possibly more). I would be very surprised if Google was to change this and I'd be very surprised if they opened it up so people could see the decimal value of their page rank. There isn't really any advantage for them to do so and it would probably make people even more focused on page rank....which doesn't really benefit Google.
