Can we say a website with one single page without any subpages get a better rank then a website with lots of subpages?
I don't know either. However, I would suspect that PR primarily is a function of content. If so, then a one-page site would have big problems with providing the content needed for PR.
No reason for me to try. I have thousands of pages on my site. Have no inclination to build a one-page site. And not interested enough to waste my time researching the issue.
i have not seen any such website with just one page and not a single subpage but i dont think having website with single page rank better than the websites with subpages because ranking depends on many other factors.
you are creating a single page which pulls in content using JS, you can have multiple H1's as when Google indexes the individual pages then it see's only one H1 per page.
it used to be that google didnt mind thin sites as much, you can still rnak a one page site but its more difficult than it used to be. The simple answer is that google likes sites with more content though. When i build thin sites based on one keyword i usually write around 10-15 articles based around the keyword topic. This gives you a chance to get some internal links pointing to your main page anyway which will help a lot when it comes to ranking.
I don't think so, it's not about the website, it's about a page. If you have many backlinks to one page which is the one you want to raise the PR, it doesn't care about the other subpages. That's why it's called PageRank, not WebsiteRank.
As of today, maybe you can find hard ranking a single page because google always update their algorithm, now panda will just slap a single page if it doesn't have a good content.
It would depend on a number of factors, how many links it has, the quality of those links, the On-page and Off-page SEO, the age of the page e.t.c
Thank you for your answers. I found this from this website: http://www.webworkshop.net/pagerank.html What do you think about this?
Not necessarily. Sites with a lot of quality content that is updated regularly is better for PR, as well as the number of quality backlinks you have.
Not necessarily. My website has tons of unique and quality content and I update about 100 pages every day with new and or updated content. There are also thousands of quality links to my site. Even at that Google PR is only 1. Do I care if I have PR1? No. I get plenty of customers, often more than I can help. And I have no problem making 3Gs or more per month from my site.
unbelievable... quality links in kilos and PR1... I check your site i n signature, its PR1 but no BL....share the site if not in signature....
The more fresh content you have the more batter ranking you will get . NO matter its a one page or too many pages . But the more pages means the more chances to get a good ranking . Also Continuous updates helps a lot . As long as you feeding search engines with new content they happy to give your pages a good ranking .
