Well, to improve the PR of my site, I'm submitting to some paid directories. I'm already listed on v7n and I'm considering aviva and alive as well, and in this page http://www.avivadirectory.com/strongest-directories/ they list Joe ant as one of the strongest. Now my question is: Is it hard to get listed here? That's what they say on their page: Use of the JoeAnt.com Speed-Pass Service does not ensure that your submission will be accepted for inclusion in the JoeAnt.com directory or that it will receive the site placement, title or description that you request. and here are their guidelines: http://www.joeant.com/webmaster.htm I'm a little scared on submitting my site (The chosen link) to that directory because I feel that the risk is too much. Should I give it a try?
I think it will be OK a guy on here is a moderator for them, so I trust all will go well with your submission If you have a problem I will contact the moderator for you, as he does not say he is the mod on any threads
Is it worth it? Really depends on a category I am listed under directories 3 page and the page is not even indexed on google. Take a look at my directory Ask and other like Alive, Aviva, Forplex, TDZ and others. They will give you more value for less money than Joeant in my opinion.
If you read our guidelines then you'll know if your site applies to our guidelines. If that's the case, it will be approved. If your site contains pron, or is just an affiliate, it will be declined. BTW, you can also become an editor for JoeAnt.com in one main topic. Then you can submit as many sites you want for free. Hugo Staff member of JoeAnt.com
I only care if the page that I am listed is on cache, what the use of having 100,000,000 cached pages if yours is not cached? Also what is the use of being listed on a PR7 directory if your page is PR0 and 7 clicks away from the homepage. Listing in Ask and other new high promoted directories it’s an investment just wait for the next PR update to see the PR, but probably then the prices will probably be different. Looks like the page at joeant now is cached. http://209.85.135.104/search?q=cache:http://www.joeant.com/DIR/cat/14548/next/30/10
Joe Ant is great, the team of editors is absolutely awesome when it comes to teaching others how to build a good directory. I have been an editor there since 2002, great place to learn
I must say as directory integrity and cleanness Joeant is probably one of the best but as PR or traffic source I am very disappointed.
I like how only editors can submit sites for free, it eliminates a lot of potential spam submissions.
it's a great athmosphere within the group of editors, none of the bickering and infighting as there is amongst DMOZ editors
Nice. I'd love to be an editor if I had the time. Can I submit for free without being an editor? I would like my site (http://www.thechosenlink.com) to be listed in joeant
I won't discuss that, because you are right, but the site is changing, and in a near future, the less important aspect about the site will be the main page =)
The reviewers don’t care about your future plans only what is now , with content I mean text, articles, news.
And this brings us to my original post. I won't submit until the site has "original" and "unique" content. Thanks for the answer, it wasn't so hard. =)
Well that seems to have answered that It pays to be proactive, creative and care for your clients as they have freedom of choice, the standards need to be very high and focused to attract sustained submittals to any Directory, especially today when the competition is everywhere Quality has to be maintained at all times
