Nothing to do with multicultualism, or race or religion, it's just about being informed, which sadly you don't seem to be.

360,000 people from the UK alone visit Thailand each year and seem to be able to keep hold of their heads.

I don't see you worrying about living in the USA with it's high murder rates, gun ownership and death penalty, but then you're not particuarly well informed.....

Well for the uninformed Brit here, I dunno, Europe seems to have more murder issues than the US

Thailand is just like any other country. Go to the wrong neighborhood and you can endanger yourself.

Are you saying there are no murders here in America? America is one of the most dangerous and violent 1st world countries in the world.

Seriously, if you are somehow "afraid" of Thailand you have problems.

You sort of strike as some old man living in rural Texas, terrified to venture into "non-white, non-Christian" places, just sitting on his ranch in his own little bubble.

Just sweep those credible links under the table of multiculturalism and pretend there's no problem. Oh, I know, let's call it "not being informed!" That's what got the UK in the problem it's facing today.

When it comes to things to worry about, head choppers, terrorists and Eurabia isn't even on your radar. Just the "but, but, but what about the IRA?" So living in the past while ignoring the present.

    Sweep, sweep sweep :D

I don't for a minute think they are, it's just a cheap excuse for them to get in a dig at a country with a different belief system and skin colour to them.

As I recall, you did ask, correct? I did deliver, correct?

I don't recall saying anything about America, do you? But if moral equivalence works for you, to sweep what you asked for under the carpet, by all means, use it!

Didn't mention anything about being afraid. Is putting word's in other's mouth the best form of debate you have to offer?

And you thought I cared what you thought? That's an awful lot of assumption for someone who asked, and was delivered information about beheadings in Thailand.

Next time you don't want to be informed, don't ask ;)

Hark the heralds, multiculturalism rears it's ugly head to sing it under the carpet, just as he says it's not that at all.

Was that a flip, or a flop? :D

shhh, it "offends" Matt to be aware of such things. It's only politically correct to mention things about Christians and Jews.

When it comes to chopping heads off, we're supposed to say "it's just a dig at someone with a different beliefth sthystem."

It's all part of that sthensthitivity training thing, where we as anglos, are supposed to be "understanding" of another's desire to decapitate someone!

If you're not afraid of America, you should not be afraid of Thailand, is my point.

You said you "valued" your head, which implied you were afraid of being beheaded. That's not putting words in anyone's mouth, it's just what you said and what you implied.

I didn't ask for information regarding beheadings, I asked why you took issue with Thailand and why crime in Thailand is different than anywhere else.

thats rubish Polo. Him saying that doesn't mean he is in fear any more than a person saying they are anti-gay makes them fearful of homos (e.g.; homophobe, hence the use of the term homos).

How does saying "I value my head" NOT imply that you are afraid of being beheaded? Seriously.

    their still Euro nations, no?

Regardless, it goes to show... no nation is absolutely safe. For you to imply America is unsafe in some way is absurd. Sure, there are bad areas as in any nation (as you noted earlier), but those are few and far between.

the same way as me saying "I value my car" doesn't mean that I wont be driving it.

It simply means I will observe due diligence while doing so..imho.

I didn't mention anything about being afraid. I said it's not a place on my list. I noted why. You asked, I provided. What's the beef?

Is it politically incorrect to place a value on your head these days? I made no mention of being "afraid."

You asked, I responded. Next time, don't ask if you don't want to be informed. The links were a direct response to your question regarding why I value my head.

    Next?
