Header and Meta Tags - Still needed?

Ive been out of the loop for a couple of years now so guessing things have changed.
Question is are header tags and meta tags still as important as they used to be?

 

H1-H6 are still useful. They are good way to organize and break up the content of a page/post and, since they can be helpful to readers, Google likes to see them.

Meta keyword tags don't get considered by Google when deciding SERP. The meta description tag is useful because Google can elect to use it as the snippet in search results. It gives you an opportunity to increase your CTR from organic Google search traffic.

 

I would like to add 1 more point in it that Title tag is the most important out of all tags!!

I think you should consider every opportunity to include keywords as worthwhile. I know its generally considered that Google don't use Meta Keywords, but who knows when they might change. They certainly won't tell anyone!

Is it ok to use the same keywords from top to bottom? ( in tittle tag, description and H1-H6 tags)? or will the relevance drop like a stone?

 

Your Title should contain you keyword at max 2 times, one is suggested
Description should also have your keyword 1-2 times
H1-H6 tags can have single occurances

 

Also your content should not have a keyword density of more than 3-4%

 

Meta tags play very very important role in search engines. Best keyword research gives you best results.

meta tag and header tag one of best way to increase serp in major search engine, but we need to use high quality keyword.

 

In case of Google, header tags are still important but meta tags had lost their importance from SERP/SEO point of view. These may still be useful in other SE like Yahoo, Bing so should be worth using them.

 

Meta tags surely are important as they are used for providing information to the crawlers of the search engine who visit your website in order to index the information. Cant really tell as if their is any use of H1 tags with in the current time of now.
