Simple, because everyone with decreasing traffic is attracted to this thread... that's why they flock to this post. Duplicate content, crap sites, shit content, poorly written and lack of research for trending key words can also be an issue... now when I read the responses here - there's a general theme - poor English skills!? Could that be a factor!?
Same here, but I thought this was because most people were still in holiday so not much people searching things on the web compared to December, say (I hope)
probably a recent update to the engine since the crawler crawls periodically it may have re-indexed you at a lower search result. have you taken a look at your popular keywords and where you appear in the results recently?
Another spammer. Gezzz this guys eat this place up.From my limited experience January is a slow traffic month altogether. Also sucks for CPC
Having the same problem this past week and the week before, I can't figure it out. I think it might be my lack of backlinks to the page. Any tips on link building?
First off have you determined via analytics which keyword(s) have been effected? If so that would be your first step to identify what keywords have fallen off (and where they have fallen to). Then you can take a further look into it and see what needs to be done to refresh your site with google. I find switching around title tags (to reflect your keywords) or doing meta description updates will generally get the big G to reindex you and normally results in a move for my sites.
have you guys thought about Alexa.com? - i read an articles about if alexa rank your site, you get google page rank too on the top. http://www.alexa.com/pro/premium-listing. I wanted to try it, but 10.00 / a month its kinda pricey, thought of getting alexa enhance software instead, to rank my site
Just bought this for $10 a month to test out. They let you actually put in two text links with your own anchor text and choice of destination url that appears in your profile... not bad! Also you get to enter in an icon for your site, a custom site description, and you get access to all the pro/premium alexa tools. I think for $10/mo a backlink with specific anchor text on Alexa and that other stuff is a pretty good deal!
wow, thanks for this wonderful info. - do you believed if you rank in alexa, you are automatically rank in google? and search engine loves alexa. they say
Well Alexa is a PR8 so a link coming from that domain has got to look good in the big G's eyes. Also the fact that they let you choose your own anchor text is another benefit. Also, I just checked and there is no nofollow attribute added to the link, so they are providing a dofollow (whether or not nofollow/dofollow is even relevant anymore in SEO is still debatable)
For case 2 I would add that it can be just a temporary period. The keyword may regain its popularity at anytime and then you should be ready and never stop updating your blog with a high quality content.
Social Marketing Traffic and Youtube Traffic are going up, up, up... Maybe you should try some new ways of getting traffic because everyday the internet is constantly changing and well I guess you just need to adapt to it...
May be its the effect of Google's latest algorithm update in which Google shows more personalized results. For more details read: http://goo.gl/OaYyL
You have to keep tweaking and changing. The internet is not a static place. If you don't change things, you may experience a drop a rankings. Keep working with your site(s), adding unique content and changing and you should be fine.
