What is a good CTR?

Hi, I own a tech site, am currently using adsense only. I have an image banner and ads in side bar and usually display an ad within the post and my CTR is less than 1% (around 0.5%). I have tried using different fonts and color schemes to blend the ads within the site's content, but it hasn't changed much.

I wanted to know wats good ctr and exactly wat shud i do to improve it?? any sugestions

A good CTR? As good as possible! I would consider anything above 5% to be very good.
To increase your CTR try to weave your ads with content, so they appear as seamless as possible (e.g. well blended).
Keep your content original and fresh and you'll get more visitors.

    0,5% is really low...
You need to change something at your site.

You need to experiment with ad locations on the page. Also, in some cases, text ads pay better than image ads; sometimes it is the other way round. If your page is very good... then you may have low CTR, because you have the answers that your visitors were looking for! If you don't have all the answers to their questions, they are more likely to click on the ads...

Tech sites people already now what it is about so they may be less likely to click. Try to put things that interest them. I recommend combining your ads with infolinks if you don't already have them as infolinks have an ok CTR because a lot of people may think they are links. That being said for your ads try to get it to 1 or 2%

I'm not convinced to be honest. It would suggest that the content shouldn't be too valuable if you want to keep visitors on the site. And, there would be fewer returning visitors in that case.

Maybe your ads are not interesting for your visitors, actually there are billion reasons for a low CTR. Main thing is interesting banners. Maybe try content locking...
