Anyone experiencing CPC drop past week ?

Hi, Does anyone see a sudden drop of adsense CPC from Christmas ? I had a very good cpc since then and it's dropped about 60% last 10 days ?

nothing changes in my site, it's games niche and no rank drop or any significant change in my site. traffic and CTR is the same.

any ideas ?

No, my CPC is about the same, just the traffic have huge drop due to christmas

 

for my niche actually holidays work better. most of my visitors are kids and game fans.

do you think returning visitors have less CPC or not paid at all ?

 

My CPC and revenue dropped starting on January 2nd. December was a great month as usual, and it always slows down right after. Looking at my stats from last year it was lower revenue in Jan and Feb, so I expect the same thing to happen again this year.

Yes, I am seeing low CPC. It started on December 30 and still continues. I think it will pick up after 10th January. This might be due to low advertisement spending during the post holiday period. Run up to the holidays are always great, than it dips down and picks up again. This pattern gets repeated for me every year for the last 6 years.

 

Thank God, I am relieved to hear that. can you imagine thinking your income lowered to 40% in one week and no other income source ?

I actually see my CPC is slightly increased comparing to past week. hope it will get back to the normal rate soon.

 

Yes, My CPC also down for last 10 days+ , I feel it will improve in next week onwards.

 

That's a big 10-4 good buddy. CPC way down starting Jan 1st. It'll pick back up...

 

It will improve as we approach middle of the month.

 

For few days it was lower than average. However, individual ads still have quite high CPC.

I hope you are right... like mvch said CPC for my niche dropped drastically... i don't know what going on with adsense and google...

 

My avg CPC dropped from $0.42 to $0.31

 

Yeah i have noticed a CPC Drop from .35 to .10 now and that sucks

 

A definite drop for me as well. CPC is down over 50%.

I noticed some other changes going on as well. For whatever reason, whenever Google is making products tests or product changes I'm chosen to test them (most of the time without asking).

I only bring that up because I am noticing changes of how visitors are being reported on Google Analytics. The "unique visitors" hasn't changed at all and my numbers are still the same as are the "page views". However, the "visitors" stat is completely different now. Usually the visitors and unique visitors stat are roughly the same number or off by only around 10%, now they are off by 50%.

Very, very odd.

 

Over 60% here as well...and still no improvement. It's reasonable to drop after the holidays, but not that rapidly.
For me it started 2 days ago and I already feel ill
