I haven't received such an email.
However, I won't respond, open or click a suspicious email link.
Sometimes, scammer sent email requested to re-enter password.
If you received such a message, report to the merchant/vendor etc.
    Take care.

I received those email after my credit card is expired and I have not enter new one to re-verify.
At first letter, I think they try to remind me of the expired card.
But I re-think and donot believe that a company like PP is sending blank email to remind their customers.

Best thing to do is forward that email to Paypal's customer service and ask them just to have piece of mind. They are pretty good at responding quickly.

Forward that email to . Don't wait for a reply though, they might not respond, but after you've forwarded the email, you can delete it.

Never open links in emails, because can should be scam and you can lost your password and your account

Some mails accounts (gmx.com for example), you can see the link in the browser statusbar put the mouse over the link in the email, I always use this technique, the 90% the emails are scam...

I wouldn't log into anything that the email directs you to because it could be phishing.

you can use "Authentication icon" from Gmail Labs
"Displays a key icon next to authenticated messages from certain senders that spammers attempt to fake. Currently works for mail from PayPal and eBay only."

Without clicking the link in the email, why don't you go into your PayPal account and double check yourself? Or even look at your credit card in your wallet? Did you get a notice in the mail that your card expired? and a replacement card? Did it even come to the email address associated with your PayPal account?

So many ways to double check this without clicking a link in a suspicious email....
