Page Title/URL Question

If I wanted to have better SEO for the keywords "maternity shirts", what would be the better url to use?

http://www.cutematernity.com/shirts.htm or http://www.cutematernity.com/maternity-shirts.htm

I'm not sure if repeating the word "maternity" is better or worse for SEO purposes. Any help wopuld be greatly appreciated.

I Suggest "maternityshirts.com"... Coz you can benefit if your main targeted keyword is also your URL. But the problem is if its available...

Well if you had no choice other than those two Url i suggest http://www.cutematernity.com/maternity-shirts.htm

I would go for: maternity-shirts.htm if possible.

 

Won't make much if any difference for SEO purposes, other than the words in the URL being highlighted in the SERPs. I'd personally go for shirts.htm as the user already knows they're looking at a maternity website.

Or, try setting up a sub-domain shirts.cutematernity.com

 

Are you sure about that? I have for my sites seen that having the keywords in the url can make a difference. Even Matt Cutts states that having the keyword in the url is better when possible and makes sense.

Think about it from a users point of view - it gives more context to the user even given your domain name.

 

I don't agree, I know that keywords in the url help to the seo process, I would go for:

I would also have to vote for maternity-shirts.htm.

as long as the keywords is on the "domain name" its fine. Using - is also fine. rather than underscor.

 

Clear and simple is ther best if you have chosen great keywords. I would also go with http://www.cute-maternity.com

 

maternity-shirts.html or /maternity-shirts/ is batter cause exact phase of keyword will work far batter then broad phase in Url,title or body content. always try to manage keyword proximity in any kind SEO tags you are using..

Second one 'maternity-shirts.htm" is good for your website as it also includes your keyword and will rank easily in search engines.

 

http://www.cutematernity.com/maternity-shirts.htm will be good because you are choosing keywords "maternity shirts" so this domain will a keyword-rich domain. It will help you when you promote your web page on "maternity shirts" keyword.

 

second url is good for target with that keywords.
